Preface of Creation

Loving God,
You have given us the abundant earth to be our home,
and from your hand has come
the fields that yield the harvest,
the gardens and waters that feed and delight us,
the vineyards and the mountains,
the valleys, plains and meadows.

All that lives is your gift of life,
all that grows is part of your creation,
and all that delights us in the rainbow and the rose
is part of your eternal beauty.

For the miracle of life,
and for sending us Jesus to teach us how to live,
we give you thanks,
and join the angels and saints
in their unending song of praise...
