midnight intruder
stares in my open window
startles me awake

I woke just before midnight, not sure why. So I got up for some water, and as I headed back to bed, I saw a pane of light on my pillow right where my face had lain, like someone shining a flashlight through the window. Hmpf. I lay down in the same spot, and... sure enough. There was the moon, looking in, bright enough to cast shadows. Seemed like it was bright enough to light the whole world.
